Mother's Day

My darling daughter Tascha made a Mother's Day" video for me today on her blog, "time with tascha". It was a complete surprise! I was looking at her blog (as I do everyday) and there was a video from Christmas Eve when Tascha was a wee little girl. We were setting out Santa's snack and then reading the "Night before Christmas". Those are precious memories. What a special Mother's Day present! I am blessed indeed!
Here is the video she made:

"Picnic Table"

This is a painting on a table that I made. It is a Picnic lunch on a cloth that is on the grass. I painted the sides and legs like grass. It is then possible to have a lovely picnic lunch in the house no matter what the weather! I specifically made it coffee table height, so that one has to sit on the floor. The picnic lunch is very realistically painted and viewed from above. It was painted in oil on plywwod (gessoed first) and then topped with polyurethane. It is a great conversation piece and a great reminder of sunny days.

"A Moveable Feast"

This is a painting I did titled "A Moveable Feast". Featuring one of my favourite books by Ernest Hemmingway. I took this book with me on one of my trips to Paris and it was a wonderful companion. This particular painting was the first in my series of "Outdoor Still Life". I will be showing more in this series soon. The painting is oil on canvas 30" x 24".
